Julia Roberts
For this celebrity, the moneymaker is her smile, which she’s insured for $30 million. Being an A-list actress, she can afford the luxury. In 2000, the film Erin Brockovich earned her $20 million!

She also made $3 million on Mother’s Day in 2006; all she had to do was a four-day shoot. With her bringing in all that money, it’s fair to say that she deserves to spend that much on her expensive smile, especially considering it’s the thing that earned her the money!
Keith Richards
Some of the most legendary rock songs are the work of the one and only Keith Richards. The Rolling Stones wouldn’t be where they are if it weren’t for this man’s hands. So it shouldn’t be a surprise to hear that they’re insured for more than $1.5 million by Lloyds of London.

The group still tours today, and he’s considered one of the greats. He was honored in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him at number four in 2011 in the list of top 100 guitarists.
Heidi Klum
While doing Project Runway, Heidi kept her legs protected and insured them for $2 million. However, they’re not guaranteed at the same price; the star told Maria Menounos that the left one is worth a bit less than the right.

The reason being she has a scar that came about from her falling on glass. She also talked a bit more about what happens during the insuring process; she says that when she was in London, she had to go to a specific place where they checked her legs.
America Ferrera
America Ferrera is an actress who starred in Ugly Betty in 2007, and the body part she insured was her smile. Aquafresh White Trays insured her pearly white smile for $10 million as part of a promotion to raise money for the charity.

Ferrera said, on Lloyd’s website, that she felt flattered her smile had insurance. She further went on about how it was something she never imagined happening.
Mariah Carey
While preparing for her Sweet Fantasy tour in 2016, Mariah Carey didn’t just do rehearsals; she insured her legs and voice too. Her voice insurance policy was $35 million, and another $35 million for her legs. Many people thought that it was too much.

However, it made sense because the show and tour wouldn’t go on if she was involved in a leg injury or had a problem with her vocal cords. However, with the insurance covering her, she’d get some money back as compensation.
Jamie Lee Curtis
Jamie Lee Curtis is an actress, activist, children’s author, and producer. In 1996, she was the spokeswoman for the pantyhose known as L’Eggs. Sara Lee, the parent company, thought it was good to protect their investment and insure her legs.

Her legs went for $1 million through Lloyd’s of London. It was a worthy investment as the company had spent a fortune on the print and broadcast campaigns that involved Jamie. The company’s intention in partnering up with Jamie was to make pantyhoses more attractive to women.
Cristiano Ronaldo
He’s considered one of the greatest soccer players of his era. This icon is the most followed person on Instagram today. He owes all his success to what his legs can do on a soccer field, so it’s no wonder they have insurance.

In 2009, when he played for Real Madrid, they insured his legs for $144 million. This was supposed to cover him if anything happened, like injuries during gameplay. However, in 2016, reports allege that he’s still covered, especially after his 2013 knee injury.
Kim Kardashian
Being a socialite means you need to appeal to people, and Kim Kardashian is known for keeping up with her fans. With her whopping millions of followers and her successful reality TV show, how she looks is vital. She’s a brand worth a lot, and she knows it.

This is why she, too, has insured one of her body parts, particularly her rear. In 2014, she insured it for $21 million; however, the insurance moved to $100 million. It might seem excessive to some, but the star knows what she’s doing.
Lionel Messi
Among the many soccer players who’ve insured their legs, Lionel Messi is the one who reportedly has the most expensive insurance of them all. As the Argentina national team captain and a Paris Saint-Germain forward, his legs are worth $900 million. That’s even more than what some teams cost!

However, his popularity and prowess on the field justify this as he’s still considered the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time). He has 793 goals for his country and club, received seven Ballon d’Or, and was the 2009 FIFA World Player of the Year.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is a famous singer and songwriter who’s been active since 2004. Her songs have been on top charts and the Billboard Hot 100. In addition, she’s considered one of the best-selling musicians of all time, given she’s sold more than 200 million records worldwide.

Given her looks and stage performances, she’s insured her legs for $40 million ($20 million per leg). Given that she needs them for her concerts and performances, it’s fair to insure them so that if an injury were to happen, she’d have something to fall back on.
Rihanna
The Venus Breeze Celebrity Legs of a Goddess Award started searching for the best legs in America, which Rihanna won in 2007. The singer and actress was also once the judge on Venus Breeze’s Legs of a Goddess contest.

Rihanna was thrilled to have her legs win the award and even more excited to find the woman with the best legs in America. She took the honor so seriously that she insured her legs for $1 million afterward.
Gareth Bale
In soccer, Gareth Bale is another star who admitted to having insured his left foot. During his time in Real Madrid, the soccer player from Wales had a policy to cover his left foot in case he ever got injured.

While speaking on The Erik Anders Lang Show, Gareth said there was an insurance agreement, but didn’t discuss it. According to experts, his magical left foot is worth around $126 million.
Fernando Alonso
Fernando Alonso is a famous Formula 1 driver and a double world champion. He makes our list of celebrities who insured their body parts because of his thumbs. Santander, the team sponsor for Alfonso, insured his thumbs for $5 million each!

This was part of Barcelona’s accident and life insurance publicity campaign before the Spanish Grand Prix in 2010. The bank said his thumbs are critical in a Formula 1 car and a symbol that shows victory and that everything is well protected and under control.
Tina Turner
She’s known for her iconic hair, lively dance moves, and impressive vocals. However, some might know her for her amazing legs, which even went on to become one of her signature features. She often flaunted them on stage with her sparkly mini dresses.

Her legs are insured for approximately $3.2 million. The singer loves her legs so much that she even dedicated a song to them back in 1994! With her love and admiration for her legs, it’d be a shock if she didn’t insure them. As we all know, she’s “Simply the Best!”
Michael Flatley
Michael Flatley is well-known in the dancing world because of his international fame from his appearance in Riverdance. He’s insured his legs, which are essential to dancing, to ensure he gets compensated should anything happen to him – to the tune of $40 million!

Michael mentioned that people were afraid that there’d be no tour if he stopped dancing, and thus many people would be out of work. He’d also lose a lot of money himself; hence, the insurance policy was a critical safety net for him and everyone around him.
Matt Harvey
Matt Harvey is a professional baseball pitcher known as the Dark Knight. He’s been primarily successful throughout the years, and the Mets pitcher has said he’ll keep playing for as long as possible. So his agent Scott Boras got his arm insured.

Jon Heyman from CBS Sports reported that the insurance policy would cover Harvey’s arm and reimburse any earnings should he get injured. This means it’s okay if he loses out on earnings because of an injury, and he’ll also be okay in the event of a career-ending injury. The policy fee is unclear, but given the $200 million expectation on his arm, one can guess the insurance pays a fraction of his potential earnings.
Manuel Neuer
Manuel Neuer is an impressive goalkeeper with several honors to his name. He was the German soccer player of the year back in 2014, winning him the World Cup Golden Glove for the Best Goalkeeper.

To protect his most prized possessions, which are his hands, he insured them for over $2.82 million courtesy of the General Association of German Insurers. So should the goalkeeper suffer from career-ending injuries, he should have something to fall back on. “For a dislocated finger, however, that will be a piece of cake,” said the insurance union.
Angie Everhart
Angie Everhart is an actress and model; she’s also been in several Sports Illustrated issues. In the 90s, she was featured in a Schick razor commercial, and in the commercial, they claimed that her legs went for $1 million.

Because of this, they got insurance from Lloyds of London. The best thing about it is that she wasn’t the one paying for it, but the company in charge covered the costs. She was covered if anything happened to her legs, whether a severe accident or an injury.
Adam Lambert
You might remember Adam Lambert from American Idol as a talented contestant. However, he’s not like other celebs who are private about their body insurance. Adam admitted that his vocal cords go for $48 million.

He said that his vocal cords are his bread and butter, and he has to ensure that they keep paying out. If his vocal cords don’t work like they’re supposed to, at least he’d have a safety net to help him out.
Troy Polamalu
When you think of insurance taken by football players, you may think that it covers arms, legs, or other body parts that make them better players. However, for Troy Polamalu, his insurance covers his hair. Yes, a football player has an insurance policy to cover his hair.

Troy Polamalu’s hair goes for $1 million. He’s known for his thick and curly hair, which has never been to a barber since 2000. His hair is so amazing that he became a spokesperson for a shampoo brand who are currently protecting his hair with Lloyd’s of London insurance.
John Schnatter
Most of these celebrities insure body parts that are valuable to them or can do things that most people can’t with their equivalent parts. This is the case for this celebrity; John Schnatter is the CEO of Papa John’s, and his hands toss around the dough, scatter toppings, and spread sauces like no other.

His hands are insured for a staggering $15.3 million, and Lloyds of London will cover him in the event of loss or damage to his hands. It’s usually rare to find someone in this industry who has insured their body, but John Schnatter is not ordinary, especially when it comes to making pizzas.
Iker Casillas
Another former Real Madrid player, Iker also decided to insure a body part. While being the goalkeeper at Real Madrid, Iker Casillas insured his hands for approximately $9.7 million. This is a lot of money, considering it’s just the hands covered and nothing else.

The Spanish Insurance Company Groupama Seguros signed the insurance policy at a promotional event. He stated that everyone should have professional insurance, and for him, it’d be great as it’d help him in case anything happens to his career.
Sebastian Michaelis
The next on our list has insured a unique body part most people wouldn’t think of; the taste buds. Sebastian Michaelis takes more than four months to make one bag of tea. His primary role is tea tasting, which takes work. He’s tasted more than 300,000 teas in his career and can identify many different flavors.

Being amazing at what he does, his bosses decided to insure his taste buds for slightly over $1 million. Given that the tongue has around 10,000 taste buds, each one goes for a little over $100. Considering his profession, we get it, but it still seems pretty odd.
Dolly Parton
Everyone loves Dolly Parton; this southern belle is known for her country music songs like “Jolene.” Aside from singing, she’s also an actress who’s appeared in several shows, from Dolly to The Porter Wagoner Show. In terms of which body part she’s insured, it’s the bosom.

Allegedly, she’s insured them for around $600,000. If something happens to them, she’s ensured that everything is fine. In show business, many things depend on looks, and she does her best to ensure she always looks her best.
Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus also has an insured body part; the entire tongue. The singer and actress claims that the body part makes her more famous than infamous, and she’s reportedly spent a million dollars to cover her tongue in case anything ever happened to it.

An unnamed source claimed that Miley is aware that her tongue is making more headlines than her. So, unsurprisingly, she’s spending that much money taking care of her tongue. Getting her tongue insured for $1 million is part of her trademark image. As a celebrity, it’s critical to protect your trademark; insurance might help you with that.
Tom Jones
Tom Jones is a Welsh singer and boasts a string of top 10 hits that came out around the 60s. He’s also done tours and made appearances in several countries over the years. His genres include R&B, soul, country, and gospel. Around 2008, there were rumors that Jones had insured his chest hairs (you read that right) for $5 million.

It’s not for certain, but there were reports that Lloyds of London was not entirely okay with the policy but later agreed to the insurance policy. However, the story is not verified; hence it’s difficult to tell whether or not it happened.
Nicki Minaj
This is a popular name in the music industry, and she has had a lot of hits over the years. However, after her numerous successes, she ought to protect the assets her fans enjoy the most; this includes her backside.

Nicki’s insurance policy was for $27 million, which is a comfortable amount to fall back on should there be any complications. With the earnings she got from her performances, it was a worthy investment.
Ben Turpin
For some people, their trademark feature is their eyes. Ben Turpin, known for being an actor and comedian, was known for this reason. Therefore, he approached Lloyds of London, known for insuring abnormal risks, to cover him.

They agreed to a fee of $25,000. After that, if these eyes ever became uncrossed, the policy would provide him with the payment. In his case, though, that never happened, so Lloyds never made any payments. Most people on this list don’t get paid because the risk only sometimes happens, but in rare occasions, it does usually occur.
Merv Hughes
Merv Hughes was on the Australian national cricket team, and from 1985 to 1994, he insured a most peculiar body part; his mustache. Merve Hughes had a trademark walrus mustache, and combined with his height (6 feet and 4 inches) and playing capabilities; he was quickly one of the unique cricketers worldwide.

He insured his mustache for around $370,000 at Lloyds of London. In case anything ever happened to his mustache, he was guaranteed reimbursement. Strange, but true!
Egon Ronay
Another star who insured his taste buds is this world-famous food critic. He’s also a writer and published the first edition of the Egon Ronay Guide to British Eateries. His endorsement could make or break a restaurant, hence he had a lot of influence and made a fortune for himself.

As we’ve seen with other people discovering that a specific body part can make them some money, he got an insurance policy from Lloyds of London for $400,000. If his taste buds could no longer serve him, he’d at least walk away with a fair amount.
Chas McDevitt
In the 50s, a musician named Chas McDevitt from Scotland was known for his skiffle. At the time, the skiffle genre was quite popular and influential, especially in the UK. He was so good at it that he decided to insure his fingers for $9,300 each.

However, he didn’t benefit much from this endeavor; shortly after, skiffle got overshadowed by rock music. As a result, the band Chas McDevitt was disbanded in 1959, and everyone went their own way. He later formed a duo with his wife, but that ended when their relationship did, in the 70s.
Bette Davis
You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t heard of Bette Davis. She was all the hype in the 1940s when she made a fair sum from her acting career. But what she was really known for was her small waist, which is why she insured it for $28,000 – which is around $540,000 in today’s value when accounting for inflation.

Of course, Lloyd’s of London insured Bette’s waist at the height of her career, when she feared that age wouldn’t be on her side and that she’d gain weight. If she’d ever lost a role due to her size, she would’ve been compensated handsomely.
Holly Madison
We all got to know her on reality TV in the late 2000s and early 2010 as Hugh Hefner’s main girlfriend. TV personality and model Holly Madison made the decision to insure her famous bosom when living at the Playboy mansion – for a whopping $1 million ($500,000 each)!

She explained that if something happened to her chest, she’d likely be unable to appear on TV or at shows for a few months, which would cost her at least a million dollars. We’re not sure about you, but we’re clearly in the wrong line of work!
Madonna
Much like the famous Playboy bunnies, Madonna also valued her cleavage so much that she chose to get an insurance policy for the ladies. Being one of the most famous and successful female singers in the world, this seems to be a good idea.

Madonna insured her bosom for $2 million, making her chest the most expensive in the world. She strongly believed that her career would be severely impacted if something happened to them, which is why she chose such a high amount.
Kylie Minogue
Most of us know Kylie Minogue for her hits like “Spinning Around” and “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” but what many of us don’t know is that the Australian singer insured her bottom for a remarkable $5 million!

The logic behind her decision was explained as her preparing for the future – her bum may become a pear and affect her career. Fair enough. We’re not sure we’re as worried about our rears as she is, but to each their own, right?
Gene Simmons
Gene Simmons is mainly known for two things – his wacky face makeup when performing, and sticking out his extra-long tongue while performing. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry, you can’t miss it in photos – it sticks out like a sore tongue, ahem, thumb.

He founded the famous rock band Kiss, and his tongue became a signature feature of the band. So as their success grew, he decided to insure the extra band member for a tongue-twisting $1 million! We somehow aren’t all that surprised, though.
Jimmy Durante
Jimmy Durante was a famous comedian, singer, and actor. He had a very distinctive facial feature that allowed his fans to recognize him from yards away – his nose! In fact, his nose was so prominent that many say it’s what made him one of the most popular personalities from the 20s to the 70s.

So, naturally, the next step was to ensure his honker so he was protected financially if something ever happened to it. The price tag the insurance company attached to his schnoz was $50,000, which is over $1 million in today’s terms. Wow!
Joey Essex
Joey Essex is a well-known British TV personality and reality TV actor, appearing in reality shows like The Only Way Is Essex and I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! He’s a firm believer that his luscious mop of hair is what has made him so popular.

Joey believes this so much that he’s in the process of getting his hair insured for around $1.2 million. He recently launched a range of hair care products and believes that his hair is firmly knotted into the success of the company.
David Lee Roth
David Lee Roth is best known as a radio personality, composer, and singer. He was the first vocalist for the hard rock band Van Halen from 1972 to 1984 and 2007 to 2020. During his break from the band, he pursued a solo career.

In the 80s, when Van Halen was in its prime, he decided to insure his swimmers. If he accidentally got a lady friend pregnant, he was insured for future costs. How responsible and strange of you, Mr. Roth! How much did he insure his seeds for, you may be wondering? $1 million!
David Beckham
Anyone in the soccer world has come across the name David Beckham, a professional soccer player who retired from the sport in 2013. Before he retired, however, he insured his limbs, particularly the legs he used to play soccer.

Through Lloyds of London, David Beckham insured his legs in 2006 for around $140 million. This protected him and ensured that he would be fine in the event of an injury that would force him into early retirement.
Daniel Craig
It’s not just athletes only who insure themselves. Even actors sometimes need insurance to ensure that the stunts they participate in don’t cost them everything. For example, Daniel Craig played the character James Bond five times. He got injured a couple of times playing this role.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that he insured his body for $9.5 million when he was filming Quantum of Solace in 2008. That’s the only insurance we know about, but he could’ve insured himself again for the next Bond movie.
Bruce Springsteen
As the first artist who scored a top-five-charting album in the past six decades, Bruce Springsteen has a fantastic voice that can’t be left uninsured. The insurance comes in the form of a $5 million Lloyds of London Insurance Policy.

While making his album Letter to You in 2020, we can say he does so with the comfort of knowing he’s covered, even if he can no longer make music. Again, though, his distinct voice is like no other and deserves protection at all costs.
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez is known for her incredible looks and voice, and she has millions of fans worldwide. So it’s not shocking to hear that her backside is worth $28 million. Jennifer has spent a fortune ensuring her backside is in excellent condition.

However, should there be any risks or complications, she’s in good hands as the insurance will cover everything to do with that area. She’s returned to the stage and recently performed in Capri, Italy, looking as fabulous as ever!
Oliver Lewis
Oliver Lewis is the fastest violinist in the world and knows why everyone knows his name, which is why he’s ensured the body part that got him his fame. Lewis has his fingers insured, and Hencilla Canworth covers this for around $100,000 per finger.

He also wants his fans to know that he takes his hands very seriously and wouldn’t do anything that might risk injuring or hurting his fingers. He says this is common sense, and he’d be lost if he didn’t have his fingers.
Charlie Chaplin
Known as a composer, actor, and filmmaker, this man was a big deal during the silent film era. In addition, he was a great performer, and being a stage actor got him everything he earned. It shouldn’t be surprising to have him on this list.

Charlie Chaplin insured both his feet for $150,000, which is equivalent to $3,550,000 with inflation. When talking about it, he said that the amount is very little considering the loss of both feet, but it seemed worth it given they got him the success he had by dancing and performing.
