The Executive Producers of Wednesday Spoke About a Second Season

An executive producers behind the Netflix series Wednesday has revealed that they were already thinking of going forward with a second season. The new show has proven to be a great hit, so it’s no wonder it is getting this treatment.

Wednesday Is Portrayed by Jenna Ortega

The new show is focused on Wednesday Addams (of the Addams Family) and is taking the world by storm. The official Netflix synopsis says it is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ student years at Nevermore Academy. It shows Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability and thwart a killing spree that has terrorized the local town. She also solves a supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago while navigating her new, tangled relationships at Nevermore.

The fun but dark show has eight episodes, and people have already been calling for many more seasons to come. Wednesday‘s co-showrunner Miles Millar has now revealed that this could certainly be the case. He admitted that while the show was focused a lot on Wednesday Addams, who is played by Jenna Ortega, the team would love to see what else could be fleshed out by going deeper into the family lore. To them, it felt like they just touched the surface with the other characters, and the actors portraying them were amazing in those roles.

Wednesday Goes to School

Ortega was joined on screen by Catherine Zeta-Jones as the matriarch Morticia Addams and Luis Guzmán portrays the legendary Gomez Addams. Also, Isaac Ordonez got the role of Pugsley Addams, and Fred Armisen is Uncle Fester. According to Millar, the actors were brilliant in portraying the classic characters, and seeing where they could go from then on would be interesting.

Millar explained how he wanted to feature the family again in future episodes because while Wednesday was trying to forge her own path, her relationship with them was important. Despite all this talk, Netflix hasn’t yet announced any plans for a second season of the series.
